Mixed opinions about McNish celebration
It’s been almost a week since McNish knocked out Edmonton Rush’s Stachniak during their last meeting and fans from both sides seem to have mixed thoughts about it. The split is pretty even amongst the people I’ve talked to.
Half of the fans from around the league are not impressed with the way that McNish celebrated after the knockout punch by jumping on the glass. They’re of the understanding that his behavior was both unprofessional and unsportsmanlike. A few fans have even mentioned that he should have received an additional penalty for his display.
The other opinion regarding the celebration is a bit more understanding. It was a heat of the moment thing. McNish was full of adrenaline and the crowd was going nuts. In those type of circumstances who wouldn’t be pumped up. McNish just wanted to get the fans back into the game, which he did.
I’m more inline with the second school of thought. There have been similar celebrations for goals being scored and nobody considers that unsportsmanlike. Whether you consider it unsportsmanlike or not here are a couple more angles of the fight — TV coverage, a fan named Brad.
